Dr. Gary Zimmerman
Gary graduated with honours from Melbourne University in 1980. He is a foundation fellow of the Australian College of Sports Physicians and works as a fulltime specialist sports and exercise physician. He is the team doctor for the Western Bulldogs football club and Chief Medical Officer for Racing Victoria. He cares for patients of all ages for both sporting and musculoskeletal injuries and also performs Dive Medicals and Extracorporeal ShockWave Therapy.
Dr. Trefor James
Trefor graduated from the University of Melbourne and his passion for sport and exercise led to a career in Sports Medicine. He is a full time Sport and Exercise Medicine Physician with extensive experience caring for both recreational and elite athletes in a wide range of sports. He is the Senior Medical Officer with Cricket Victoria and has also held appointments with Cricket Australia, the PGA (Golf) & the Geelong Football club. His practice encompasses a broad range of musculoskeletal problems for both the active and not so active individual.
Dr. Stuart Down
Stuart graduated with honours from Monash University in 1998, and received his Fellowship of the Australasian College of Sport & Exercise Physicians in 2008, along with the College Medal for highest ranked graduate. Stuart has been a medical officer with Cricket Victoria since 2006 and has a particular interest in the treatment of injuries of the knee, ankle, shoulder, wrist, hip (especially FAI), stress fractures and treatment of musculoskeletal issues of the adolescent.
Assoc. Prof. Julien Freitag
Julien is an experienced musculoskeletal specialist and is a fellow of the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians. His practice is focused on the active management of musculoskeletal conditions including osteoarthritis and tendinopathy. Julien is an authority in the area of clinical regenerative musuloskeletal medicine including techniques such as Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP), ShockWave Therapy and Mesenchymal Stem Cell (MSC) therapy.
Dr. Patrick Sunderland
Patrick’s lifelong passion for sport steered his career to sports medicine and Patrick is currently a Registrar with the Australian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians. Patrick has extensive sports medicine experience working with several different teams. He is currently one of the club doctors at Essendon Football Club in the AFL and also works at the Victorian Institute of Sport helping a range of elite athletes manage their injuries as well as their general health concerns.
